Storm Watchers

There was a torrential storm today, with thunder shaking our school. A group of us went down to the front foyer fwindows to safely watch the action. Some of the children used the iPad to take pictures and document the experience.

I asked them "Where does thunder come from?"

"God playing the drums."
"Angels bowling."
"The clouds bumping together."
"Mr Sun and the clouds are fighting."

One of our children has a special interest in storms, and he clarified for us.
"It comes from the lightening. Snowflakes in the clouds rub together and make electricity, then it falls out of the sky. "

Quickly, the storm passed and a sunbeam emerged. We shifted our watch to a rainbow hunt.

We sang "Mr. Sun" to encourage him to come out and play.

And it worked!
