Sour+sweet=delicious!

The children were very curious about the huge leaves waiting for them this morning. Some of them recognized it as a delicious spring vegetable (though it's treated as a fruit) - rhubarb!

They chopped up the edible stems and we tried a piece straight. I wish I had captured those sour faces on film!


We decided to dip it in sugar.


That's better!



We used the leftovers to make rhubarb stew. 



In only 15 minutes, we had a delicious afternoon snack. It disappeared so quickly I couldn't get a picture of anyone eating it....but trust me there were no leftovers!
