S-no time like snow time!

The temperature was finally in that perfect spot for tobogganing- cold enough for snow but warm enough to be outside. The children had fun learning about gravity, friction, mass, and balance. Who knew that sledding can be a physics lesson!

When there weren't enough sleds, Ben thought laterally and tried a shovel.

Worked so well Liam got in on it too!

It wasn't all gravity, though. We also had fun collecting and moving snow. Snow is so great because it turns a static environment like a playground into a dynamic learning area filled with objects to be manipulated, shared, and explored. When children have agency over their environment, they learn more.

But they aren't thinking about gravity, physics, or manipulation of dynamic materials.

All they are thinking about is FUN!
