Late Fall Through a Child's Eyes

Thursday was unseasonably warm, so the SKs and I headed outside for a bonus Forest Friday. I gave a child the iPad, and instructed him to take three photos, then pass it on. By the end of the hour outside, every child had captured some images from their own point of view.

I'm always fascinated to see the world through the students' perspective. I spend a good part of my day trying to get inside their little heads to understand their thinking. The iPads have been a gift that open the door to their minds a little bit.

Last week, as the leaves died off, the children discovered some very sturdy grapevines they can use as swings. A natural playground in the truest sense!

Some children chose to capture small details, such as the last bugs of fall and our bulb planting equipment.

Many children took photos of the November sky. Look at the textures and movement they were able to capture.

Still others found beauty in the ground.

There were also shots of the play and fun to be had together outside.

Outdoor play is hard work for bodies and minds. Time for a rest!
