Transformations

Katy and I have been busy preparing to meet our new students tomorrow.

It's been an adventure transforming our space this fall. We moved away from a crowded, colourful teacher-directed space towards a more neutral, calm, and child-centred classroom. Our goals are to have a more purposeful use of the environment and to think carefully about every aspect of the space.

We've tried to focus on natural materials and using a clutter-free approach. The walls look a little bare right now, but not for long!

Come on in for a tour!

We can't wait to meet our new learners tomorrow.
The cubbies are ready to welcome their new owners.

Science centre is ready to be explored.

The math centre, ready for counting, patterning, and imaginative play.

The art studio is ready for little artists.

So is the writing centre.

Our new couch is a cozy spot to share a book.

The quiet corner, for reading, puzzles and dramatic play.

We're excited to see how our kindergarten learners will interact with their classroom and transform it to reflect their learning. Check back soon!

    1. Thank you! We are very lucky to be in a newly built school. Looking back at this post, I'm amazed at how much the children have changed the space already. I can feel a before and after post coming on!
