We love lacrosse!

Brad Self from the Peterborough Lakers came by to show us the fundamentals of Canada's official summer sport.

First we learned how to hold the stick,

And how to stand in "lacrosse stance".

Next we learned how to scoop up the ball. It's a lot like shovelling the driveway.

Once we mastered that, it was time to bounce the ball up and down, cradling it in the pouch.

And finally, we played a game of duck duck goose where we learned how to run with the ball in the stick.

Brad finished off the session with some autographs.

We love lacrosse!

Spring Nature Walk

Welcome spring!

Pedal for Hope

The Peterborough Police made a visit to our school to celebrate our fundraising efforts. They biked all the way from Peterborough!

Once we got settled in the gym, we had visits from all sorts of special guests to teach about about ways to prevent cancer.

We learned to eat healthy,

Stay active,
 And to wear sunscreen.

Many students were pledged to shave their heads, and lots of hair hit the floor!

There was a frozen yogurt eating contest,

And lots of pie to the face. Our very own Maci, who conquered cancer this year, got to smoosh a pie on Mrs Duffus' head!

We had some timbits to celebrate back in the class,
and Maci shared her prize with her friends. What a wonderful celebration of her accomplishment!

Learning to be artists

I
Some of the children took to creating pictures within frames.  Discovering a real artist who creates using real natural objects was our inspiration.  Each child worked hard and made a creation unique to themselves.  They sure are learning to be artists.
